Prayer is our best shield and weapon

Notes of Meeting on 15 October 2013

Picture of Jesus beside Him a standard with a lamb on it.

There was a City of Great Light which was under seige from an army of dark forces.

Jesus and Mary together with a host of Angels and many people raised up shields to repel the dark forces.

Prayer is our best shield and weapon againt the enemy.

Romans5 v 12 - 21

12 Well then; it was through one man that sin came into the world, and through sin death, and thus death has spread through the whole human race because everyone has sinned.

13 Sin already existed in the world before there was any law, even though sin is not reckoned when there is no law.

14 Nonetheless death reigned over all from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sin was not the breaking of a commandment, as Adam's was. He prefigured the One who was to come . . .

15 There is no comparison between the free gift and the offence. If death came to many through the offence of one man, how much greater an effect the grace of God has had, coming to so many and so plentifully as a free gift through the one man Jesus Christ!

16 Again, there is no comparison between the gift and the offence of one man. One single offence brought condemnation, but now, after many offences, have come the free gift and so acquittal!

17 It was by one man's offence that death came to reign over all, but how much greater the reign in life of those who receive the fullness of grace and the gift of saving justice, through the one man, Jesus Christ.

18 One man's offence brought condemnation on all humanity; and one man's good act has brought justification and life to all humanity.

19 Just as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by one man's obedience are many to be made upright.

20 When law came on the scene, it was to multiply the offences. But however much sin increased, grace was always greater;

21 so that as sin's reign brought death, so grace was to rule through saving justice that leads to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Matthew 10 v 24 - 33

24 'Disciple is not superior to teacher, nor slave to master.

25 It is enough for disciple to grow to be like teacher, and slave like master. If they have called the master of the house "Beelzebul", how much more the members of his household?

26 'So do not be afraid of them. Everything now covered up will be uncovered, and everything now hidden will be made clear.

27 What I say to you in the dark, tell in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from the housetops.

28 'Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; fear him rather who can destroy both body and soul in hell.

29 Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Father knowing.

30 Why, every hair on your head has been counted.

31 So there is no need to be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

32 'So if anyone declares himself for me in the presence of human beings, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven.

33 But the one who disowns me in the presence of human beings, I will disown in the presence of my Father in heaven.

A time of Mercy and Redemption

Notes of Meeting on 8 October 2013

Picture of a layer of blood over the world. Now is a time of Mercy and Redemption. Jesus desires to pour His Blood upon those who are lost. He is calling for them to come back to Him.

Romans 6

1 What should we say then? Should we remain in sin so that grace may be given the more fully?

2 Out of the question! We have died to sin; how could we go on living in it?

3 You cannot have forgotten that all of us, when we were baptised into Christ Jesus, were baptised into his death.

4 So by our baptism into his death we were buried with him, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father's glorious power, we too should begin living a new life.

5 If we have been joined to him by dying a death like his, so we shall be by a resurrection like his;

6 realising that our former self was crucified with him, so that the self which belonged to sin should be destroyed and we should be freed from the slavery of sin.

7 Someone who has died, of course, no longer has to answer for sin.

8 But we believe that, if we died with Christ, then we shall live with him too.

9 We know that Christ has been raised from the dead and will never die again. Death has no power over him any more.

10 For by dying, he is dead to sin once and for all, and now the life that he lives is life with God.

11 In the same way, you must see yourselves as being dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.

12 That is why you must not allow sin to reign over your mortal bodies and make you obey their desires;

13 or give any parts of your bodies over to sin to be used as instruments of evil. Instead, give yourselves to God, as people brought to life from the dead, and give every part of your bodies to God to be instruments of uprightness;

14 and then sin will no longer have any power over you -- you are living not under law, but under grace.

15 What is the implication? That we are free to sin, now that we are not under law but under grace? Out of the question!

16 You know well that if you undertake to be somebody's slave and obey him, you are the slave of him you obey: you can be the slave either of sin which leads to death, or of obedience which leads to saving justice.

17 Once you were slaves of sin, but thank God you have given whole-hearted obedience to the pattern of teaching to which you were introduced;

18 and so, being freed from serving sin, you took uprightness as your master.

19 I am putting it in human terms because you are still weak human beings: as once you surrendered yourselves as servants to immorality and to a lawlessness which results in more lawlessness, now you have to surrender yourselves to uprightness which is to result in sanctification.

20 When you were the servants of sin, you felt no obligation to uprightness,

21 and what did you gain from living like that? Experiences of which you are now ashamed, for that sort of behaviour ends in death.

22 But, now you are set free from sin and bound to the service of God, your gain will be sanctification and the end will be eternal life.

23 For the wage paid by sin is death; the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 51

1 [For the choirmaster Of David When the prophet Nathan had come to him because he had gone to Bathsheba] Have mercy on me, O God, in your faithful love, in your great tenderness wipe away my offences;

2 wash me clean from my guilt, purify me from my sin.

3 For I am well aware of my offences, my sin is constantly in mind.

4 Against you, you alone, I have sinned, I have done what you see to be wrong, that you may show your saving justice when you pass sentence, and your victory may appear when you give judgement,

5 remember, I was born guilty, a sinner from the moment of conception.

6 But you delight in sincerity of heart, and in secret you teach me wisdom.

7 Purify me with hyssop till I am clean, wash me till I am whiter than snow.

8 Let me hear the sound of joy and gladness, and the bones you have crushed will dance.

9 Turn away your face from my sins, and wipe away all my guilt.

10 God, create in me a clean heart, renew within me a resolute spirit,

11 do not thrust me away from your presence, do not take away from me your spirit of holiness.

12 Give me back the joy of your salvation, sustain in me a generous spirit.

13 I shall teach the wicked your paths, and sinners will return to you.

14 Deliver me from bloodshed, God, God of my salvation, and my tongue will acclaim your saving justice.

15 Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will speak out your praise.

16 Sacrifice gives you no pleasure, burnt offering you do not desire.

17 Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken, contrite heart you never scorn.

1 John 2 v 1-2

1 My children, I am writing this to prevent you from sinning; but if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the upright. 2 He is the sacrifice to expiate our sins, and not only ours, but also those of the whole world.

Eternal Father,

I offer You the Body and Blood,

Soul and Divinity

of Your dearly beloved Son,

Our Lord Jesus Christ,

in atonement for our sins

and those of the whole world.

Have joy and peace in your hearts and a smile on your lips and then you can go and spread my word

Notes of meeting on 1 October 2013

Have joy and peace in your hearts and a smile on your lips and then you can go and spread my word

Psalm 115

1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and your constancy! 2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?' 3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses. 4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands. 5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing, 6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smell nothing. 7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats. 8 Their makers will end up like them, and all who rely on them. 9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield. 10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield. 11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield. 12 Yahweh will keep us in mind, he will bless, he will bless the House of Israel, he will bless the House of Aaron, 13 he will bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike. 14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too! 15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. 16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam. 17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence, 18 but we, the living, shall bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.

Isaiah 57 v 14-21

14 Then it will be said: Level up, level up, clear the way, remove the obstacle from my people's way, 15 for thus says the High and Exalted One who lives eternally and whose name is holy, 'I live in the holy heights but I am with the contrite and humble, to revive the spirit of the humble, to revive the heart of the contrite. 16 'For I do not want to be forever accusing nor always to be angry, or the spirit would fail under my onslaught, the souls that I myself have made. 17 'Angered by his wicked cupidity, I hid and struck him in anger, but he rebelliously went the way of his choice. 18 'I saw how he behaved, but I shall heal him, I shall lead him, fill him with consolation, him and those who mourn for him, 19 bringing praise to their lips. Peace, peace to far and near, Yahweh says, and I shall heal him.' 20 The wicked, however, are like the restless sea that cannot be still, whose waters throw up mud and dirt. 21 'No peace', says Yahweh, 'for the wicked.'

Jonah 4 v 1 - 11

1 This made Jonah very indignant; he fell into a rage. 2 He prayed to Yahweh and said, 'Please, Yahweh, isn't this what I said would happen when I was still in my own country? That was why I first tried to flee to Tarshish, since I knew you were a tender, compassionate God, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, who relents about inflicting disaster. 3 So now, Yahweh, please take my life, for I might as well be dead as go on living.' 4 Yahweh replied, 'Are you right to be angry?' 5 Jonah then left the city and sat down to the east of the city. There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, to see what would happen to the city. 6 Yahweh God then ordained that a castor-oil plant should grow up over Jonah to give shade for his head and soothe his ill-humour; Jonah was delighted with the castor-oil plant. 7 But at dawn the next day, God ordained that a worm should attack the castor-oil plant -- and it withered. 8 Next, when the sun rose, God ordained that there should be a scorching east wind; the sun beat down so hard on Jonah's head that he was overcome and begged for death, saying, 'I might as well be dead as go on living.' 9 God said to Jonah, 'Are you right to be angry about the castor-oil plant?' He replied, 'I have every right to be angry, mortally angry!' 10 Yahweh replied, 'You are concerned for the castor-oil plant which has not cost you any effort and which you did not grow, which came up in a night and has perished in a night. 11 So why should I not be concerned for Nineveh, the great city, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, to say nothing of all the animals?'
