Theotokos Prayer Group 2022 - Christmas Day

 

Gospel- Luke 2:1-14 © 'In the town of David a saviour has been born to you' Caesar Augustus issued a decree for a census of the whole world to be taken. This census – the first – took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria, and everyone went to his own town to be registered. So Joseph set out from the town of Nazareth in Galilee and travelled up to Judaea, to the town of David called Bethlehem, since he was of David’s House and line, in order to be registered together with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to a son, her first born. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them at the inn.   In the countryside close by there were shepherds who lived in the fields and took it in turns to watch their flocks during the night. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone round them. They were terrified, but the angel said, ‘Do not be afraid. Listen, I bring you news of great joy, a joy to be shared by the whole people. Today in the town of David a saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. And here is a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.’ And suddenly with the angel there was a great throng of the heavenly host, praising God and singing: ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace to men who enjoy his favour.’ Notes from meeting on 20 December 2022 Picture A picture of a large star approaching St Mary’s right over this room we are in! The star seemed to illuminate the whole area around and within this building. As we all praised and prayed the light deposited Our Lord Jesus as a baby in His crib in the centre of us, as we prayed and praised the Baby gurgled and smiled waiving His little hands towards us, Blessed Mother and St Joseph moved forward and silently adored the Little King, for a moment in time it seemed all was silent and all of us were intently looking at this wonderful sight, it was as though nothing else existed but each of us worshipping God’s Holy Son. Our pitiful voices became voices of splendour mixed with those of all the Holy Angels and finally the child slept and all was caught up into Heaven once more! ‘My Little One’s Thank you for coming to worship my Son Jesus, please keep praying for those who do not worship him and continually try to expunge Him from the minds and hearts of Mankind, Your holy prayers, praise and adoration of Him will  push back the attacks of my adversary and together we will win souls for God the Almighty. I bless you in the Name of Jesus and with my Motherly Heart draw you close to the Holy Trinity.’ Mary Luke 2 v 1-20 Open the doors wide to Christ! Intercessions Come, Lord Jesus, dwell amongst us! Lord we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all peoples and nations. Pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory may they be granted eternal rest. Mary, Mother of God, Theotokos, pray for us. Theotokos Prayer Group 2022 .Fourth Sunday of Advent

 

GOSPEL - Matthew 1:18-24 How Jesus Christ came to be born This is how Jesus Christ came to be born. His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph; but before they came to live together she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph; being a man of honour and wanting to spare her publicity, decided to divorce her informally. He had made up his mind to do this when the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins.’ Now all this took place to fulfil the words spoken by the Lord through the prophet: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and they will call him Emmanuel, a name which means ‘God-is-with-us.’ When Joseph woke up he did what the angel of the Lord had told him to do: he took his wife to his home. Notes from meeting on 13 December 2022 Picture Picture of Our Blessed Mother with a veil over her head, she seems to be in mourning as she is weeping! On a hill under a great light is the Nativity scene, but Blessed Mother is missing, she is further down the hill listening, suddenly footsteps of many peoples of all creeds and nations can be seen streaming to the Light of the Nativity, Our Mother leads them to her Son Jesus, Our Mother lifts her mourning veil away and starts to smile with such joy.  The people all arrive and somehow there is room for all and as they come forward to kneel before the child they all bring their offerings, one brings the tools of his trade, another brings bread that he has baked, even a little child brings his toy to the baby King of Kings. Blessed Mother is so happy that she picks up her Son and lifts Him up for everyone to see, each person is blessed by the Light from the Child, none are missed out! "My little ones, my Son takes delight in His People, for you were once lost but now you  are found.’ Peace be upon you. May the Light of the Christ Child be in your hearts and stay with you in this Holy Season.’ Mary" Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen. Theotokos Prayer Group 2022 - Third Sunday of Advent 11 December 2022

 

Gospel    Matthew 11:2-11 

'A greater than John the Baptist has never been seen'

John in his prison had heard what Christ was doing and he sent his disciples to ask him, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or have we got to wait for someone else?’ Jesus answered, ‘Go back and tell John what you hear and see; the blind see again, and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised to life and the Good News is proclaimed to the poor; and happy is the man who does not lose faith in me.’
  As the messengers were leaving, Jesus began to talk to the people about John: ‘What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swaying in the breeze? No? Then what did you go out to see? A man wearing fine clothes? Oh no, those who wear fine clothes are to be found in palaces. Then what did you go out for? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet: he is the one of whom scripture says:
‘Look, I am going to send my messenger before you;
he will prepare your way before you.
‘I tell you solemnly, of all the children born of women, a greater than John the Baptist has never been seen; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is.’

Lord, sustain our faith in you, the Redeemer and Saviour, worker of miracles.

Picture of many people walking towards mountain upon which was the Holy Temple of the Lord. Jesus was at the doorway with His arms wide open in welcome.
People were streaming towards the Great Light from within and around the Temple and the Light emanating from His Most Sacred Heart.
The people were struggling to get to the Light but Blessed Mother joined them, she seemed to know that a huge obstacle would appear. The people struggled on till they found the narrow pass was blocked by huge stones and falling debris, Our Blessed Mother drew her Children to Her Immaculate Heart for safety and many beings appeared who rolled the stones away making the pass clear. Blessed Mother then led Her children through the debris on to her Son Jesus where there was so much Joy and Peace and utter Thankfulness to be with her Son.
Not one soul that appealed to her Immaculate Heart was lost.

“My little one’s in any difficulty, ask for my succour and prayers, I will always lead you to my Son’s Heart.
my little ones if you ask for my prayers for others, I will always respond, for there is nothing I want more than to lead souls to the refuge of my Son Jesus’ Heart.
My little ones problems seem insurmountable but I assure you if you pray, the lapsed, the fallen even the most hardened, the atheist will receive graces and come to my Son.
My little ones there is nothing my Son desires than souls to be safe with Him, and so I ask you to pray, pray, pray till it becomes like breathing in and breathing out.

Gospel    

Matthew 3:1-12 

The one who follows me will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire

In due course John the Baptist appeared; he preached in the wilderness of Judaea and this was his message: ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.’ This was the man the prophet Isaiah spoke of when he said:
A voice cries in the wilderness:
Prepare a way for the Lord,
make his paths straight.
This man John wore a garment made of camel-hair with a leather belt round his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then Jerusalem and all Judaea and the whole Jordan district made their way to him, and as they were baptised by him in the river Jordan they confessed their sins. But when he saw a number of Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism he said to them, ‘Brood of vipers, who warned you to fly from the retribution that is coming? But if you are repentant, produce the appropriate fruit, and do not presume to tell yourselves, “We have Abraham for our father,” because, I tell you, God can raise children for Abraham from these stones. Even now the axe is laid to the roots of the trees, so that any tree which fails to produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown on the fire. I baptise you in water for repentance, but the one who follows me is more powerful than I am, and I am not fit to carry his sandals; he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing-fan is in his hand; he will clear his threshing-floor and gather his wheat into the barn; but the chaff he will burn in a fire that will never go out.’

O Lord we repent of our sins, prepare us for the coming of the Kingdom.

O Lord we desire to follow you.

O Lord baptise us with the fire of your Holy Spirit.
