Theotokos Prayer Group 2023 - Sunday 17 September 2023
Alleluia, alleluia!
Speak, Lord, your servant is listening:
you have the message of eternal life.
Alleluia!
Gospel: Matthew 18:21-35
To be forgiven, you must forgive
Peter went up to Jesus and said, ‘Lord, how often must I forgive my brother if he wrongs me? As often as seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘Not seven, I tell you, but seventy-seven times.
‘And so the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who decided to settle his accounts with his servants. When the reckoning began, they brought him a man who owed ten thousand talents; but he had no means of paying, so his master gave orders that he should be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions, to meet the debt. At this, the servant threw himself down at his master’s feet. “Give me time” he said “and I will pay the whole sum.” And the servant’s master felt so sorry for him that he let him go and cancelled the debt. Now as this servant went out, he happened to meet a fellow servant who owed him one hundred denarii; and he seized him by the throat and began to throttle him. “Pay what you owe me” he said. His fellow servant fell at his feet and implored him, saying, “Give me time and I will pay you.” But the other would not agree; on the contrary, he had him thrown into prison till he should pay the debt. His fellow servants were deeply distressed when they saw what had happened, and they went to their master and reported the whole affair to him. Then the master sent for him. “You wicked servant,” he said “I cancelled all that debt of yours when you appealed to me. Were you not bound, then, to have pity on your fellow servant just as I had pity on you?” And in his anger the master handed him over to the torturers till he should pay all his debt. And that is how my heavenly Father will deal with you unless you each forgive your brother from your heart.’
Notes from meeting on 12 September 2023
Picture of Blessed Mother,
Our Mother is walking through a walled garden, there are many people praying and offering their prayers through her Immaculate Heart, as she passes by she collects these prayers and as she places them near her Heart they turn into the most verdant and colourful flowers, some offer roses, some greenery, some tiny violets all manner of beautiful and very different blooms. Our Mother stores them in her Heart and offers them to the Father, He in turn finds them acceptable and so in great light they appear before the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Jesus together with the Holy Spirit action all of these prayers, some straight away some prudently for a later time, but all are beautified and magnified by Our Blessed Mother and so the Trinity can not refuse Blessed Mother!
"My Children
Have Faith, nothing is impossible to the Holy Father if asked for and prayed for in My Immaculate Heart, my Son together with the Holy Spirit are awaiting the perfect time to answer your heartfelt requests.
Do not suffer alone my little ones, I your Mother will magnify your requests and prayers, together we will help Jesus lift the fallen and make straight the Way to Him who is all Love and Mercy!
Your Mother never leaves you.
Mary"
Flowers, besides being beautiful, have often been used in Christian tradition to signify virtues and remind us of the saints.
For example, consider this brief meditation of St. Augustine on the virtues related to our state in life:
I tell you again and again, my brethren, that in the Lord’s garden are to be found not only the roses of his martyrs. In it there are also the lilies of the virgins, the ivy of wedded couples, and the violets of widows. On no account may any class of people despair, thinking that God has not called them. Christ suffered for all. What the Scriptures say of him is true: He desires all men to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth (Sermo 304, 1-4: PL 38, 1395-1397).
John 19 v 25-27
...Meanwhile, standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, “Woman, here is your son.” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.

Theotokos Prayer Group 2023 - Sunday 10th September 2023
Alleluia, alleluia!
Your word is truth, O Lord:
consecrate us in the truth.
Alleluia!
Gospel: Matthew 18:15-20
If your brother listens to you, you have won back your brother
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘If your brother does something wrong, go and have it out with him alone, between your two selves. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you: the evidence of two or three witnesses is required to sustain any charge. But if he refuses to listen to these, report it to the community; and if he refuses to listen to the community, treat him like a pagan or a tax collector.
‘I tell you solemnly, whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth shall be considered loosed in heaven.
‘I tell you solemnly once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them.’
Notes from meeting on 5th September
1 Thessalonians 5 v 1-11
5 Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers and sisters, you do not need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 When they say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them, as labour pains come upon a pregnant woman, and there will be no escape! 4 But you, beloved, are not in darkness, for that day to surprise you like a thief; 5 for you are all children of light and children of the day; we are not of the night or of darkness. 6 So then let us not fall asleep as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober; 7 for those who sleep sleep at night, and those who are drunk get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, and put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.
Lord we praise You that You call us into the light and to turn away from darkness. You are our Saviour.
Help us to encourage one another and build up each other.
Lord help us to see that you are within us:
St Augustine - Confessions
Late have I loved you, Beauty so ancient and so new, late have I loved you!
Lo, but I outside, seeking there for you,
and upon the shapely things you have made
I rushed headlong – I, misshapen.
You were with me, but I was not with you.
They held me back far from you,
those things which would have no being,
were they not in you.
John 14:23
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
Be reconciled.
Help us to recognise our need to be reconciled to God and for the great gift we have of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Theotokos Prayer Group 2023 - Sunday 3 September 2023
Alleluia, alleluia!
May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
enlighten the eyes of our mind,
so that we can see what hope his call holds for us.
Alleluia!
Gospel
Matthew 16:21-27
'Get behind me, Satan!'
Jesus began to make it clear to his disciples that he was destined to go to Jerusalem and suffer grievously at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes, to be put to death and to be raised up on the third day. Then, taking him aside, Peter started to remonstrate with him. ‘Heaven preserve you, Lord;’ he said ‘this must not happen to you.’ But he turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because the way you think is not God’s way but man’s.’
Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it. What, then, will a man gain if he wins the whole world and ruins his life? Or what has a man to offer in exchange for his life?
‘For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and, when he does, he will reward each one according to his behaviour.’
Notes from meeting on 29 August 2023
Picture of Blessed Mother showing us an Altar, upon it are the Body and Blood of her Son Jesus consecrated within the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, also to one side a Monstrance containing the Consecrated Host of her Son’s Body and a priests purple stole of Confession, also a set of Rosary Beads, Holy Water, Blessed Salt etc.
"My little children all the Holy things I have shown you, especially participation attentively to Holy Mass and adoration of my Son, if used in conjunction with your sacrifices will help you on the road to holiness, my little ones your participation in all of these not only helps you to become more like your King and Saviour but more able to pray effectively.
I myself will take all that you do into my Immaculate Heart and magnify your offerings before God the Most High, then my little ones you will see miracles in your own and others lives. Nothing is impossible to God if you each act and pray with faith from your heart.
Do not fear for I will cover you with my mantle and all will be well.
Mary"
