Fixing our eyes on Jesus

Notes of meeting 14 November 2017

Hebrews 12 v 1-11

 ¹Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, ² fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

⁴ In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. ⁵ And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,

‘My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
    and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
⁶ because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
    and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.’

⁷ Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? ⁸ If you are not disciplined – and everyone undergoes discipline – then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. ⁹ Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! ¹⁰ They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. ¹¹ No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

 

 

Luke 4 v16-21

¹⁶ He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, ¹⁷ and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

¹⁸ ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
    because he has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
    and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
¹⁹     to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’

²⁰ Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. ²¹ He began by saying to them, ‘Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.’

 

do not forget your priests

Notes of Meeting on 7 November 2017

Picture of Our Blessed Mother with an inconsolable Baby Jesus. Our Mother tried to soothe Him saying "I will get Prayers for You."

A priest could be seen he was covered in blood, he had been tortured, stripped and whipped with no mercy shown him. He was in terrible pain but kept visualising his Saviour on the Cross, he could see the Blood of Jesus pour forth and surround him and his abusers. He could hear voices praying and it seemed the voices were from heaven and also people praying from the earth , Christians praying for him.
The mingling of Christ's Blood and the prayers seemed to cover him like a beautiful woven cloak, then the pain seemed to dissipate and all but disappear.

The Baby Jesus ceased crying.

Mary says:
"My children , my dear children, see the beautiful covering garment of prayer and grace that with my Son Jesus' Most Precious Blood you have helped to provide for priests in their martyrdom. This martyrdom for the Faith which is your Faith also.
Some priests spend their lives quietly going about the Lord's business and suffer interiorly others pay willingly with their blood imitating my Son Jesus.
When you pray for yourselves, your families, the lost do not forget your priests they are precious in my Son's eyes, everyone of them.
If you find difficulty with one of my Sons chosen ones pray hard for him for you know nothing of his spiritual life. Your priests are being attacked as never before cover them with the beautiful garment of prayer from your heart.
My sons are in need of your love.
Pray for them my little ones.
Prayer overcomes all darkness, prayer enlightens the mind and soul, prayer produces miracles.
Nothing is impossible with prayer
My Baby Son lifts His hand in Blessing upon you.
Mary."


1 Peter 5 v 1 -11

5 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: ² be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them – not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; ³ not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

⁵ In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility towards one another, because,

‘God opposes the proud
    but shows favour to the humble.’

⁶ Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. ⁷ Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

⁸ Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. ⁹ Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
¹⁰ And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. ¹¹ To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Mark 4 v 35-41
³⁵ That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, ‘Let us go over to the other side.’ ³⁶ Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. ³⁷ A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. ³⁸ Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’
³⁹ He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
⁴⁰ He said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’
⁴¹ They were terrified and asked each other, ‘Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!’
