From darkness to the Kingdom of Light

Notes of meeting 21 August 2012

A picture of darkness coming toward the light. The darkness was peopled with beings of malice and the light with beings of love.
Those in the darkness looked as though they were trying to defend their area and were out for one last assault to try and dispel the light.
The beings of light quietly carried on praising and glorifying God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The beings were filled with light and God's power. The light overcame the darkness and its beings retreated.

It was felt that through the above picture Jesus was telling us that never will he leave us in the dark, if we turn to him in our most terrible trials even in our greatest of sins he will come for he is light that same light that the demoniacs recognised in his time on earth. When Jesus cast out demons they always knew he was the Son of God and had authority over them.
If we open ourselves and let his light in nothing can harm us. All fear is dispelled thanks to the love and power of our God. These are the days to take that truth to ourselves, Satan cannot overcome God. Jesus the Light of the World will prevail and we are called to be part of his army of light.

Psalm 115 v 9-13

9 All you Israelites, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
10 House of Aaron, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
11 You who fear him, trust in the Lord—
he is their help and shield.
12 The Lord remembers us and will bless us:
He will bless his people Israel,
he will bless the house of Aaron,
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord—
small and great alike.

Psalm 119 v 145 - 160

145 I call with all my heart; answer me, Lord,
and I will obey your decrees.
146 I call out to you; save me
and I will keep your statutes.
147 I rise before dawn and cry for help;
I have put my hope in your word.
148 My eyes stay open through the watches of the night,
that I may meditate on your promises.
149 Hear my voice in accordance with your love;
preserve my life, Lord, according to your laws.
150 Those who devise wicked schemes are near,
but they are far from your law.
151 Yet you are near, Lord,
and all your commands are true.
152 Long ago I learned from your statutes
that you established them to last forever.
153 Look on my suffering and deliver me,
for I have not forgotten your law.
154 Defend my cause and redeem me;
preserve my life according to your promise.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked,
for they do not seek out your decrees.
156 Your compassion, Lord, is great;
preserve my life according to your laws.
157 Many are the foes who persecute me,
but I have not turned from your statutes.
158 I look on the faithless with loathing,
for they do not obey your word.
159 See how I love your precepts;
preserve my life, Lord, in accordance with your love.
160 All your words are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal.

1 Kings  17 v 7 - 15
Elijah and the Widow at Zarephath

7 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. 8 Then the word of the Lord came to him: 9 “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” 10 So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, “Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?” 11 As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.”
12 “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”
13 Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”
15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. 16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

We are to do as God tells us..God can work abundantly through the small and insignificant
..He can put even our meagre praise and prayer to use.

See below words from the New Dawn Conference, which seemed very much to fit in with the word we received:
