Happy New Year

 Wishing you all a Happy New Year.

Galatians 4 v 4-7

4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “ABBA, Father.”

7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit we ask your blessing on the coming year. Help us to grow into the gift of our adoption as your children. Amen

Mary Mother of God, Theotokos, pray for us.

Mary our Mother pray for us.

Stay awake

Notes of meeting on 7 January 2015

Mark 13 v 33 -37
33 'Be on your guard, stay awake, because you never know when the time will come.
34 It is like a man travelling abroad: he has gone from his home, and left his servants in charge, each with his own work to do; and he has told the doorkeeper to stay awake.
35 So stay awake, because you do not know when the master of the house is coming, evening, midnight, cockcrow or dawn;
36 if he comes unexpectedly, he must not find you asleep.
37 And what I am saying to you I say to all: Stay awake!'

Mark 14 v 34
34 And he began to feel terror and anguish. And he said to them, 'My soul is sorrowful to the point of death. Wait here, and stay awake.'

2 Corinthians 3 v 1- 6
1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves to you afresh -- as though we needed, like some others, to have letters of commendation either to you or from you?
2 You yourselves are our letter, written in our hearts, that everyone can read and understand;
3 and it is plain that you are a letter from Christ, entrusted to our care, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God; not on stone tablets but on the tablets of human hearts.
4 Such is the confidence we have through Christ in facing God;
5 it is not that we are so competent that we can claim any credit for ourselves; all our competence comes from God.
6 He has given us the competence to be ministers of a new covenant, a covenant which is not of written letters, but of the Spirit; for the written letters kill, but the Spirit gives life.

Heavenly Father I ask you to bless our group Theotokos. Send your Spirit upon us so that we will be witnesses to the living light of Jesus in our lives. You chose Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit to become the first tabernacle to hold your Son Jesus in her womb, therefore I ask Mary, Mother of God and Our Mother, to bear us into holiness. Teach us to listen to the voice of God in the stillness of our hearts and live in his presence offering all our joys and sorrows for his honour and glory. Teach us to pray for the conversion of our hearts and the conversion of the world so that we may become faithful ambassadors of your Son, Jesus. Amen
