Sunday 30 August 2020

Dear friends,

Let us commit ourselves to pray for one another and the wider Church and the World

Ephesians 6 v 17-18
17 And accept salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. 18 Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God's people.

James 5 v 15-17
15 This prayer made in faith will heal the sick; the Lord will restore them to health, and the sins they have committed will be forgiven. 16 So then, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you will be healed. The prayer of a good person has a powerful effect. 17 Elijah was the same kind of person as we are. He prayed earnestly that there would be no rain, and no rain fell on the land for three and a half years.

1 Timothy 2 v 1-3
1 First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgivings be offered to God for all people; 2 for kings and all others who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful life with all reverence toward God and with proper conduct. 3 This is good and it pleases God our Saviour,

Prayer to Archangel Raphael
O Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners. I beg you, assist Us in all our needs and in all the sufferings of life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the “medicine of God” I humbly pray to you to heal the many infirmities of Out soul and the ills that afflict our body. I especially ask of you the favour of healing and restoring Of - body, and the great grace of purity to prepare - to be the temple of the Holy Spirit . Amen
Lord, you are the maker of all miracles.
