Gospel Matthew 5 v 38-48
Love your enemies
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You have learnt how it was said: Eye for eye and tooth for tooth. But I say this to you: offer the wicked man no resistance. On the contrary, if anyone hits you on the right cheek, offer him the other as well; if a man takes you to law and would have your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone orders you to go one mile, go two miles with him. Give to anyone who asks, and if anyone wants to borrow, do not turn away.
‘You have learnt how it was said: You must love your neighbour and hate your enemy. But I say this to you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you; in this way you will be sons of your Father in heaven, for he causes his sun to rise on bad men as well as good, and his rain to fall on honest and dishonest men alike. For if you love those who love you, what right have you to claim any credit? Even the tax collectors do as much, do they not? And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional? Even the pagans do as much, do they not? You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’
Lord teach us to love and pray even for those who hate us.
Lord help us to strive for perfection and holiness just as you are perfect and holy.
Notes from meeting on 14 February
Nahum v 2-7
2 The Lord is a jealous and avenging God;
the Lord takes vengeance and is filled with wrath.
The Lord takes vengeance on his foes
and vents his wrath against his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger but great in power;
the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.
His way is in the whirlwind and the storm,
and clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebukes the sea and dries it up;
he makes all the rivers run dry.
Bashan and Carmel wither
and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.
5 The mountains quake before him
and the hills melt away.
The earth trembles at his presence,
the world and all who live in it.
6 Who can withstand his indignation?
Who can endure his fierce anger?
His wrath is poured out like fire;
the rocks are shattered before him.
7 The Lord is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,
Picture
Picture of Blessed Mother, she is exuding her quiet Light, Our Mother is spiritually kissing the wounds of her Son Jesus, as she does so, her very soul is in alignment with her Son and His wounds become hers, in fact her will is so totally aligned to His that even her heartbeats are in unison with those of her Son Jesus, her actions, her thoughts, her joys, her Sorrows and her pains all are subject to His Will, she is in fact the living embodiment of her Son, and He makes all that He is working in her and through her, every prayer, wish, desire or need is magnified and multiplied for the good of humanity and for the Joy of Heaven.
"My little ones,
my Joy is in my Son Jesus and my Joy is in each of you when you do the Will of my Son, because of sin in the world and all that my adversary does to obscure my Son, it takes practise and perseverance to keep aligned to the Will of my Son Jesus, yes you may fail and often, but come to the refuge of my Immaculate Heart and receive my Son’s peace, then pick yourself up, and look towards my wounded Son and love Him, soon you will not want to look away but want to keep looking at Him and love will flow and you without thinking will align yourself to His Will.
My children who are far away are in need of your prayers. Pray especially for my Son’s Church and my Priest sons that they will always do the Will of my Son and ever lead their flocks on the path to Heaven.
Mary"
