Taste and see that the Lord is good
Alleluia, alleluia!
The Word was made flesh and lived among us:
to all who did accept him
he gave power to become children of God.
Alleluia!
Gospel: John 6:51-58
My flesh is real food and my blood is real drink
Jesus said to the crowd:
‘I am the living bread which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever;
and the bread that I shall give is my flesh,
for the life of the world.’
Then the Jews started arguing with one another: ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’ they said. Jesus replied:
‘I tell you most solemnly,
if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you will not have life in you.
Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood
has eternal life,
and I shall raise him up on the last day.
For my flesh is real food
and my blood is real drink.
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood
lives in me
and I live in him.
As I, who am sent by the living Father,
myself draw life from the Father,
so whoever eats me will draw life from me.
This is the bread come down from heaven;
not like the bread our ancestors ate:
they are dead,
but anyone who eats this bread will live for ever.’
Notes from meeting on 13 August:
Picture
Picture of a large army carrying weapons and pursuing a gathering of God’s People, with them is Our Blessed Mother.
The army carries the Serpent like Dragon on its banner, the people of God look to be overtaken by the army when Our Blessed Mother falls back behind the People of God, she kneels down and produces The Holy Sacrament from Her Immaculate Heart, a great cloud appears and falls to the Earth between the army and God’s People, this causes total confusion to the army and they fall back on them selves in great disarray!
The Children of God carry on to the place of refuge.
"My dear little children,
Do not fear I shall always protect you against the enemy, I shall always lead you to the refuge of Mmy Son's Sacred Heart, He who is always waiting to comfort and care for you!
My little ones my adversary looks to confuse and terrorise those who pray with their hearts, but finds that my Immaculate Heart which magnifies these prayers blinds him and confuses him.
So my children keep praying for the lost that they would come to the refuge of my Son Jesus, these acts of prayer and sacrifice by you, are magnified by my Immaculate Heart and so all of Heaven rejoices!
Do not be afraid, I your Maternal Mother bless you in the Name of my Son Jesus.
Mary"
Lord we pray for the lost and those in darkness, for all who have turned away from you, especially those in our own families. May they come to find the safe refuge of your Sacred Heart and may the Immaculate Heart of Mary intercede for them. Amen
We continued with part 3 of the CaFe Course "Let It Be Done Unto Me According To Your Word"
Part 3 - Mother of All
Themes covered:
Adopted at the Cross (John 19 v 27)
Our own fiat (how do we mirror Mary's fiat)
The big family (we are all Mary's adopted children)
Mother of Pentecost (Mary Bride of the Spirit helps the Church (us) to be open to the Spirit)
The First Contemplative (Mary ponders in her heart all that God has done and intercedes for us)
Lord Jesus, give me the kind of hunger and thirst for the Holy Spirit that Mary and the early disciples had at Pentecost.
Expand my capacity to receive.
May Mary, who grew each day in your love, show me how to grow in my on life.
And may the Holy Spirit visit your Church today with a new Pentecost to draw all into your Kingdom.
Amen
