Alleluia, alleluia!
I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, says the Lord;
No one can come to the Father except through me.
Alleluia!
Gospel John 6:24-35
It is my Father who gives you the bread from heaven; I am the bread of life
When the people saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into boats and crossed to Capernaum to look for Jesus. When they found him on the other side, they said to him, ‘Rabbi, when did you come here?’
Jesus answered:
‘I tell you most solemnly,
you are not looking for me because you have seen the signs
but because you had all the bread you wanted to eat.
Do not work for food that cannot last,
but work for food that endures to eternal life,
the kind of food the Son of Man is offering you,
for on him the Father, God himself, has set his seal.’
Then they said to him, ‘What must we do if we are to do the works that God wants?’ Jesus gave them this answer, ‘This is working for God: you must believe in the one he has sent.’ So they said, ‘What sign will you give to show us that we should believe in you? What work will you do? Our fathers had manna to eat in the desert; as scripture says: He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ Jesus answered:
‘I tell you most solemnly,
it was not Moses who gave you bread from heaven,
it is my Father who gives you the bread from heaven,
the true bread;
for the bread of God
is that which comes down from heaven
and gives life to the world.’
‘Sir,’ they said ‘give us that bread always.’ Jesus answered:
‘I am the bread of life.
He who comes to me will never be hungry;
he who believes in me will never thirst.’
Lord, Bread of Life we come to you, satisfy our hunger;
Lord, Bread of Life, we believe in you, quench our thirst. Amen.
Notes from meeting on 30 July 2024:
Picture
A picture of a man covered in weeping sores and filth, this man has committed all kinds sin during his life and is now crawling towards the Cross of Christ. He has no more strength and calls out with his last ounce of strength the Name of Jesus.
Many people hear this call on Jesus in their hearts and start to pray from the depths of their hearts, suddenly the wind blows and somehow the man is blown forward to the foot of the Cross, he looks about to die in a heap. The Blood and Water from Our Lords side cascades over him and he is made completely clean and all his wounds are healed.
"My dear little children,
This is the power of prayer, this man who would have been sent to Hell was able with his last effort to cry out the name of Jesus, and Jesus heard his cry, this last cry was made possible by prayers of the faithful. My little ones you do not realise the efficacy of your prayers, when said in faith and love for my Son Jesus and then they are magnified by my Immaculate Heart, almost anything is possible when the Holy Spirit actions your prayers.
Don’t loose heart with prayer and wonder if your prayer is heard, when you pray with faith and in love, know it is heard by The Trinity and actioned.
My children your prayer and sacrifice is so important it can be the difference between new life in Heaven or perpetual death for a poor soul.
Therefore I ask you to keep going and I will cover you with my Motherly Mantle of Protection.
Mary your Most Maternal Mother."
Psalm 16
Song of Trust and Security in God
A Miktam of David.
1 Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.’
3 As for the holy ones in the land, they are the noble,
in whom is all my delight.
4 Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows;
their drink-offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names upon my lips.
5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
I have a goodly heritage.
7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
8 I keep the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
my body also rests secure.
10 For you do not give me up to Sheol,
or let your faithful one see the Pit.
11 You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures for evermore.
