Persevere in hardship

Notes of meeting on 4 August 2015

Picture of a child in the Garden of Gethsemane, the child was tiny but still knew that Jesus was betrayed and was kissing his hands while Jesus suffered.
Our Lady led the child away to watch.
Then the child, a little older, was comforting Jesus after he had been cruelly whipped.
Our Lady led the child away to watch.
The child, now well formed and older, went to Jesus when all were mocking Him and as the crown of thorns was placed on His head the child wept and kissed His feet.
Our Lady led the child away to watch.
As Jesus carried His Cross He fell. The child begged Jesus that he could help Him but the soldiers pushed him away.
Our Lady led the child away to watch.
When Jesus was crucified the child now a mature 12 or13 wept so hard and kissed the bleeding feet of his Saviour.
Our Lady begged him to stay with her and keep watch.
In all his sufferings the child united to his Saviour walked with Our Lady the way of Calvary and in so doing comforted the bruised and broken Heart of Our Lord.
We Theotokos are that child as is every person who makes the decision to walk with Christ.

Our Lady says:
Wait and keep watch with me. See how your beloved Saviour suffers for you.
My Children, Theotokos born of my heart, persevere when all around is changing, love my Son Jesus, keep doing His will for you will grow in strength and maturity. His work for you is only now starting, stay with Him, love Him, follow Him, adjoin your hearts to Him
I bless you in the name of Jesus.

Romans 12 v 9 -21
9 Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is evil; stick to what is good.
10 In brotherly love let your feelings of deep affection for one another come to expression and regard others as more important than yourself.
11 In the service of the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with conscientiousness and an eager spirit.
12 Be joyful in hope, persevere in hardship; keep praying regularly;
13 share with any of God's holy people who are in need; look for opportunities to be hospitable.
14 Bless your persecutors; never curse them, bless them.
15 Rejoice with others when they rejoice, and be sad with those in sorrow.
16 Give the same consideration to all others alike. Pay no regard to social standing, but meet humble people on their own terms. Do not congratulate yourself on your own wisdom.
17 Never pay back evil with evil, but bear in mind the ideals that all regard with respect.
18 As much as possible, and to the utmost of your ability, be at peace with everyone.
19 Never try to get revenge: leave that, my dear friends, to the Retribution. As scripture says: Vengeance is mine -- I will pay them back, the Lord promises.
20 And more: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat; if thirsty, something to drink. By this, you will be heaping red-hot coals on his head.
21 Do not be mastered by evil, but master evil with good.

Jeremiah 29 v 11 - 14
11 Yes, I know what plans I have in mind for you, Yahweh declares, plans for peace, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
12 When you call to me and come and pray to me, I shall listen to you.
13 When you search for me, you will find me; when you search wholeheartedly for me,
14 I shall let you find me (Yahweh declares. I shall restore your fortunes and gather you in from all the nations and wherever I have driven you, Yahweh declares. I shall bring you back to the place from which I exiled you).

Be with Me, Pray with Me, Watch with Me

Notes from meeting on 6 November 2012

Picture of a large Mirror.
Each person in this group was asked to go and sit in front of it and then to go back to the group.
When we each looked at ourselves we could see, just that, ourselves.
When back in the group we were all asked to spend time praying for the world in front of the Cross of Jesus. Our Mother accompanied us.
We were then asked if once again one at a time in front of the Mirror reflected there was the face of Jesus it was as though we had become like Him, resembling His qualities, His gifts, His fruits and all from spending time with Him and His Mother before His Cross.
Jesus said "Don't worry about your needs they are taken care of. Pray for the fulfilment of God's Promise, this is being accomplished even as we speak and pray together. My faithful ones will truly see the Glory of Heaven. Be with Me, Pray with Me, Watch with Me.

Ephesians 1 v 17-23
17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him.
18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, how rich is the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,
19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with the strength of his power
20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at his right hand, in heaven,
21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named, not only in this age but also in the age to come.
22 He has put all things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;
23 which is his Body, the fullness of him who is filled, all in all.

Where is your faith... Use the gifts I have given you, use the faith I have given you...
Go out and do the work I have commissioned you to do

Receive the gifts and fruits of the Spirit

Faith

Notes from Meeting on 6 December 2011

Hebrews 11 v 23-27
23 It was by faith that Moses, when he was born, was kept hidden by his parents for three months; because they saw that he was a fine child; they were not afraid of the royal edict.

24 It was by faith that, when he was grown up, Moses refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter
25 and chose to be ill-treated in company with God's people rather than to enjoy the transitory pleasures of sin.
26 He considered that the humiliations offered to the Anointed were something more precious than all the treasures of Egypt, because he had his eyes fixed on the reward.
27 It was by faith that he left Egypt without fear of the king's anger; he held to his purpose like someone who could see the Invisible.

Lord give us faith and keep us faithful. Help us look forward to our eternal reward.

Persevere in faith

Notes from meeting on 31 May 2011

* (Feast) Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary • Luke 1:39-56
Daily reflection taken from Bible Alive - Alive Publishing

Mary was a young Jewish girl who lived in Nazareth. Her early life would have seemed nothing out of the ordinary; her life would have melted into the background of the daily life in a small town. But it is here that we find the model of the hope that does not disappoint.

The quality of a person’s faith, its character and its strength, is exposed when it is tested. When Mary was asked to be the mother of the Lord, it would be a mistake to think that she did not fully grasp the implications of what was being asked of her. She must have known that her acceptance of this role would lead to her life being changed forever. There must have been worries and fears. But Mary’s ‘Yes’ was both a brave and a remarkable response from a human being.

Mary reveals to us all a faith that trusts God. But faith does not exclude us from the worries and anxieties of life: it is a gift by which we can retain our hope and confidence regardless of our circumstances. Mary would have faced anxieties along with her joy. She would have welcomed the support and encouragement of those who were close to her. And so she set off on the arduous journey to visit her cousin in the hill country. Mary may have rushed to Elizabeth to share the joy of hearing that she was going to have a child, but she also knew that her cousin loved the Lord and would not only rejoice in Mary’s news but would understand and encourage her.

God’s Spirit is at work in us who believe, because it is as we believe that the word of God is both conceived and brought forth in our lives. Our words and deeds may be hidden from the eyes of the world, but each step of faith, each act of hope, each word of prayer brings us closer to God. We do not make this pilgrimage through life on our own: we journey in faith, with all the angels and saints. We journey together to our Father.

‘God our Father, we thank you for the example of faith, hope and love that we have in Mary. It is hope in you that leads us to see you at work in our lives. May we learn to live each day with an expectation of your plan unfolding before our eyes.’

* Romans 12 v 9 - 13

* Acts 22 v 6 - 21 Paul's conversion

* Lord help us listen to your 'call' for us as individuals as a group and as a Church.
Help us remain faithful and persevere despite our trials, help us to respect all people and be witnesses to your love.
