Alleluia, alleluia!
Your words are spirit, Lord, and they are life;
you have the message of eternal life.
Alleluia!
Gospel Mark 6:7-13
'Take nothing with you'
Jesus made a tour round the villages, teaching. Then he summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs giving them authority over the unclean spirits. And he instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no haversack, no coppers for their purses. They were to wear sandals but, he added, ‘Do not take a spare tunic.’ And he said to them, ‘If you enter a house anywhere, stay there until you leave the district. And if any place does not welcome you and people refuse to listen to you, as you walk away shake off the dust from under your feet as a sign to them.’ So they set off to preach repentance; and they cast out many devils, and anointed many sick people with oil and cured them.
Notes from meeting on 9 July 2024:
Picture
Picture of a mountain with just a small shade of light behind it. All is in darkness between the mountain in the plains below is a vast army of menacing beings. Our Blessed Mother is leading her children to the mountain, it seems impossible to get there because of this army in the way, Blessed Mother comes right up face to face with this army and as she takes the first step before them it is as though they have no awareness that she and her children are there, the army parts into two and Blessed Mother with her children pass through unhindered and unharmed. They reach the base of the mountain and climb up to the top,
The light is brighter now and she leads her children to the foot of her Son’s Cross, all are safe and with her start to pray.
"My dear children,
I lead you safely to the foot of my Son’s Cross for a purpose, the need is so great now for prayer and sacrifice in mitigation for the atrocities against the Body of my Son and His love.
My children try to emulate He Who is All Love and pray for Mankind especially your enemies that they might be brought to know the truth of my Son’s love for them.
Just as Peter was released in front of his gaolers and set free to carry on preaching the love of Jesus, so will I protect you from my adversary so that you may redouble your efforts. My little ones you are weak but grace will prevail and so you become strong.
My Motherly Mantle is upon you shielding you.
Now, is the time to pray earnestly!
Mary"
O Go, our refuge in trials, our strength in sickness, our comfort in sorrow, spare your people, we pray, that, though rightly chastised now by affliction, they may find relief at last through your loving Mercy.
Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen
Beneath your mantle we take refuge O Mother of God
Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms, help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus.
This we pray, Amen.
Romans 5 v 20
20 But law came in, with the result that the trespass multiplied; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,
Matthew 4 v 1-11
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
