Be a Shepherd to us O Lord
Alleluia, alleluia!
The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice,
says the Lord,
I know them and they follow me.
Alleluia!
Gospel: Mark 6:30-34
They were like sheep without a shepherd
The apostles rejoined Jesus and told him all they had done and taught. Then he said to them, ‘You must come away to some lonely place all by yourselves and rest for a while’; for there were so many coming and going that the apostles had no time even to eat. So they went off in a boat to a lonely place where they could be by themselves. But people saw them going, and many could guess where; and from every town they all hurried to the place on foot and reached it before them. So as he stepped ashore he saw a large crowd; and he took pity on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he set himself to teach them at some length.
Notes from meeting on 16 July 2024 :
Picture
Picture of many people with Our Blessed Mother gathered at the foot of her Son’s Cross.
We are all quietly praying the Rosary, when we have finished, Blessed Mother motions with her hand to come forward to receive from her Son a gift. As we go one at a time we can see many crosses leaning at the foot of her Son’s Cross, some metal, some wooden, some small, some large, some beautiful, some plain, some encrusted with jewels some covered in flowers some opaque some clear all have a uniqueness to them and all are suited to each recipient. Every person receives the cross that is exactly suited to their own needs and the prayer needs for their families and for the World, none are to heavy or onerous because all have been sifted and weighed in the balance and so by means of the Holy Spirit have been appointed to each.
"My dear little children,
Come take up your cross and follow my Son Jesus. These crosses in some will be felt keenly and in some hidden in the depths of your hearts, but all if carried with courage and love of my Son will make a huge difference to those in your families and those you may not even know in the World who seem so indifferent to my Son. These crosses are truly a gift and they will help you in this work by magnifying the good from them especially when born of the Spirit with humility.
Do not be afraid for my Son is with you and loves each of you. I your maternal Mother will always cover you with my Mantle of Grace. I say again do not be afraid, all will be well.
Mary"
Isaiah 56
1 Thus says the Lord:
“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
for soon my salvation will come,
and my deliverance be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man who does this,
and the son of man who holds it fast,
who keeps the sabbath, not profaning it,
and keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
3 Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord say,
“The Lord will surely separate me from his people”;
and let not the eunuch say,
“Behold, I am a dry tree.”
4 For thus says the Lord:
“To the eunuchs who keep my sabbaths,
who choose the things that please me
and hold fast my covenant,
5 I will give in my house and within my walls
a monument and a name
better than sons and daughters;
I will give them an everlasting name
which shall not be cut off.
6 “And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord,
to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord,
and to be his servants,
every one who keeps the sabbath, and does not profane it,
and holds fast my covenant—
7 these I will bring to my holy mountain,
and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;
for my house shall be called a house of prayer
for all peoples.
8 Thus says the Lord God,
who gathers the outcasts of Israel,
I will gather yet others to him
besides those already gathered.”
The Corruption of Israel’s Rulers
9 All you beasts of the field, come to devour—
all you beasts in the forest.
10 His watchmen are blind,
they are all without knowledge;
they are all dumb dogs,
they cannot bark;
dreaming, lying down,
loving to slumber.
11 The dogs have a mighty appetite;
they never have enough.
The shepherds also have no understanding;
they have all turned to their own way,
each to his own gain, one and all.
12 “Come,” they say, “let us get wine,
let us fill ourselves with strong drink;
and tomorrow will be like this day,
great beyond measure.”
