Love one another (addition)

Further notes from meeting on 17 February 2015

Picture of Our Lord Jesus with his heart exposed. From his heart issued torrents of gold coloured oil, the oil was filling up the room and everyone was moving with ease within it and upon it. The oil seemed to penetrate every part of us. Everyone although different seemed to become one in him.
Our praise was uplifting, our thoughts centred on him, our acts of worship more meaningful.
Our thanks more profuse and heartfelt and our detachment from the evils of the world more complete. It was as though we became as one praying body to be used for the uplifting and somehow redemptive work with Jesus for mankind.

We were like a well oiled machine a machine praying without ceasing.

My little flock pray without ceasing. I am with you together with my Mother and your Mother.
Pray with us for your separated brothers and sisters be like lights in a dark world showing the way to my Heart.
If you are in the light nothing of the darkness shall harm you, be filled with my light like little children who rely on their parents for everything. For I shall only give you good things from the Father through the Holy Spirit.

March Prayer Intention

March Prayer Intention

We pray for the poor of the world:

Lord we pray that you would look with compassion on those who are poor.

Those who lack food, water and shelter.

Those who lack financial security.

Those who lack health.

Those who lack peace and justice.

Creator God, who made our beautiful world,

appointed us as its guardians

and gifted us with everything we need,

forgive us for the times we cause it harm;

for the times our way of life affects our neighbours.

Inspire us

to care for the environment;

to help rebuild lives and communities;

to share in the griefs and anxieties,

joys and hopes of all your people,

so that all your creation may flourish.

Amen.

We will be having a monthly prayer intention throughout the year and if anyone has ideas for areas of intercession please let us know. The first meeting of each month will be set aside for praying for the particular monthly intention.

Love one another

Notes of meeting on 17 February 2015

John 15 v 10 - 17
10 If you keep my commandments you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.
11 I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete.
12 This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.
13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.
14 You are my friends, if you do what I command you.
15 I shall no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know the master's business; I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.
16 You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last; so that the Father will give you anything you ask him in my name.
17 My command to you is to love one another.

Romans 15 v 7 - 13
7 Accept one another, then, for the sake of God's glory, as Christ accepted you.
8 I tell you that Christ's work was to serve the circumcised, fulfilling the truthfulness of God by carrying out the promises made to the fathers,
9 and his work was also for the gentiles, so that they should give glory to God for his faithful love; as scripture says: For this I shall praise you among the nations and sing praise to your name.
10 And in another place it says: Nations, rejoice, with his people,
11 and in another place again: Praise the Lord, all nations, extol him, all peoples.
12 And in Isaiah, it says: The root of Jesse will appear, he who rises up to rule the nations, and in him the nations will put their hope.
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the Holy Spirit you may be rich in hope.

Sunday 15 February 2015

Are we sheep or goats?

Notes of meeting on 10 February 2015

Matthew 25 v 31 -46
31 'When the Son of man comes in his glory, escorted by all the angels, then he will take his seat on his throne of glory.
32 All nations will be assembled before him and he will separate people one from another as the shepherd separates sheep from goats.
33 He will place the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left.
34 Then the King will say to those on his right hand, "Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take as your heritage the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome,
36 lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me."
37 Then the upright will say to him in reply, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome, lacking clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we find you sick or in prison and go to see you?"
40 And the King will answer, "In truth I tell you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me."
41 Then he will say to those on his left hand, "Go away from me, with your curse upon you, to the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you never gave me food, I was thirsty and you never gave me anything to drink,
43 I was a stranger and you never made me welcome, lacking clothes and you never clothed me, sick and in prison and you never visited me."
44 Then it will be their turn to ask, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, a stranger or lacking clothes, sick or in prison, and did not come to your help?"
45 Then he will answer, "In truth I tell you, in so far as you neglected to do this to one of the least of these, you neglected to do it to me."
46 And they will go away to eternal punishment, and the upright to eternal life.'

Lord help us to be compassionate to our brothers and sisters in need.

Prayer for Peace:
Lord, God of peace, who has created man, the object of your kindness, to be close to you in glory, we bless you and we thank you because you have sent us your beloved son, Jesus, the source of all peace, the bond of true brotherhood.
We thank you for the desire, the efforts, the realisations which your spirit of peace has roused in our day: to replace hatred with love, diffidence with understanding, unconcern with care. Open yet more our hearts to the needs of all our brothers and sisters, so that we may be better able to build a true peace.
Remember, Father of mercy, all who are in pain, who suffer and die in the cause of a more brotherly world. For the men of every race, of every tongue - may your kingdom come: your kingdom of justice, of peace, of love; and may the earth be filled with your glory.
Amen.

Pray for Peace

Notes of meeting on 3 February 2015

Do not be afraid.

Amen.

We seek the aid of Our Lady, Help of Christians:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...

Dear Mother, we come to you on this day imploring your powerful intercession, asking you to pray for genuine and lasting peace to fall upon all countries of the world which are beset by such violence and turmoil.

Petition 1: O Holy Mary, powerful help of Christians, we turn to you with faith.  In your mercy hear the prayers of all of those who so desperately implore your help. Pray that they may hold steadfast to their faith and to trusting in our loving, merciful Father, even in the present times of great trial and distress.
Hail Mary...

Petition 2: O Holy Mary, Mother of goodness and mercy, with your visible aid you have so often delivered Christians from the attacks of their enemies. Defend the souls of those who are so violently persecuted today, from the assaults of the devil; may love and forgiveness triumph always in their hearts and minds.
Hail Mary...

Petition 3: O Holy Mary, most powerful Queen, you alone triumphed over the many false teachings which sought to tear away many of your children from the bosom of the Church. Help those who are today so tested in their faith, to hold firmly to the truths of the Gospel, and to not give in to false teachings or the temptations of anything contrary to the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son. May the light of truth of the Gospel shine forth to bring lasting peace to the world.
Hail Mary...

Petition 4: O Holy Mary, Our sweetest Mother, Queen of Martyrs, infuse in the hearts of all the faithful, especially those in troubled areas of the world, the strength to persevere in faith, hope and love. Overcoming all hatred, persecution and opposition, may they live their faith and show themselves on every occasion, a devout child of yours. May the light of their faith illuminate the darkness in the hearts of their enemies.
Hail Mary...

Petition 5: O Holy Mary, at this time of turmoil in the world, we ask you to protect the whole Church and especially the Holy Father, Pope Francis. Pour out your blessings and protection upon all Bishops, Priests and Religious such that they may bring peace to the world. Defend them from the attacks of their enemies, deliver them from all evil, such that they may keep a safe watch over their flocks, and continue to provide for those who have been entrusted to their care.
Hail Mary...

Petition 6: O Holy Mary, Queen of the Apostles, we beg of you especially to extend your loving patronage to all missionaries; especially those risking their lives and safety. We ask you to pray for their protection at all times, such that they are able to bring all people of the earth to the true faith of Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord and Saviour.
Hail Mary...

Petition 7: O Holy Mary, gracious and merciful Mother, by your efficacious intercession, you have saved Christians from deadly attacks of both body and soul. We implore you to continue to watch over your faithful children, especially those undergoing great trials; that they may persevere in faith, strengthen and encourage their loved ones, and call sinners to repentance. May the truth and the Kingdom of Jesus Christ triumph here on earth, especially in those nations and amongst those people who are at present far from the love of your Son and the salvation of his Church.
Hail Mary...

Petition 8: O Holy Mary, Pillar of the Church and Help of Christians, we ask you to intercede especially for those children and young people caught up in the violence currently afflicting the world, and for those who have had to flee to neighbouring countries in search of safety. We ask you to pray for the protection of their hearts and minds and for the healing of all harm that has already afflicted them. Above all, may they retain hearts of flesh and not hearts of stone, and may their faith remain childlike; trusting always in the unfailing love our Lord Jesus Christ who is with us always.
Hail Mary...

Petition: O Holy Mary, in every age you have been the steadfast help of Christians. Please pray for a lasting peace to fall upon the entire world. Assist all of those who call upon you, with your invincible aid in life, and especially at the hour of their death, so that after having loved and praised you here on earth, they may deserve to come and sing your mercies forever in Heaven.
Hail Mary...

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Sunday 1 February 2015

Thank you Jesus

Notes from Mass on 20 January 2015 in thanksgiving for 25 years of Theotokos Prayer Group

Mass readings:

Hebrews 6 v 10-20
Psalm 111 v 1-2, 4-5, 9-10
Mark 2 v 23-28

Picture of a huge light which was behind, inside and all around Jesus, As people prayed the light seemed to be mirrored in little pockets all around the world. As we praised the light got more intense. The light seemed to be part of the Heavenly Light and that light drew others to come to the Light, others saw that light in the praying and praising people and so were drawn to the bigger Light, Jesus himself.
Many people who were in darkness came into the Light and it was as though a huge burden had been lifted from them. They too mirrored the Light of Christ.

Come to the water.
Stand by my side.
I know you are weary you won't be denied.
I've felt every teardrop when in darkness you cried.
I strove to remind you for those tears I died.
