Come Holy Spirit
COME HOLY SPIRIT FILL THE HEARTS OF YOUR FAITHFULL AND ENKINDLE IN THEM THE FIRE OF YOUR LOVE. SEND FORTH YOUR SPIRIT O LORD AND RENEW THE FACE OF THE EARTH.
Thinking about this prayer with Pentecost coming up this Sunday I was reminded of the picture the group was given on 5th August 2008 as follows:
God our Creator showed me His gift to us.
He showed me the earth as He created it.
I could see snow capped mountains, sunlit valleys, rivers and lakes, beautiful meadows and flowers, green fields and forests, turquoise oceans and brilliant white shores with fluffy white waves lapping against them.
Creation in all its beauty.
I could see Jesus sitting on a rock dressed as a Rabbi, teaching multitudes of people. God our Creator said “My Son is my gift to you. The Way the Truth and the Life.”
Then I could see the Cross with Jesus crucified. God our Creator said “I gave you my Son, King of Salvation, Saviour of the World, come see what you have done.”
I could see the earth in grave darkness, bombed cities, soldiers fighting, and hate greed and lust. Polluted rivers, black oceans, shores covered in dirt. The western wealth and food waste. Poverty, the dying in the third world. A dying earth.
God our Creator then showed me a pocket of people deep in prayer.
I was also given the reading Genesis 18 v 20 -33 and the following from a booklet ‘The Way of the Cross’:
The Spirit of Christ, Creator, Comforter is living still, crying within us and all around us, crying to all humanity for the healing of Creation, for justice, compassion and peace. ALLELUIA.
Let us pray:
Lord we pray for the restoration and healing of the world, for justice, compassion and peace.
Lord restore your world.
Lord restore your people.
We pray against all evil in the world and in particular … add here any particular intention i.e. illegal drugs trade, wars, poverty, abortion, unemployment, etc..
Come Holy Spirit renew the face of the earth. Amen.

please pray for my husband massimo (max) who has been in custody for over 7 months now for things he hasnt done.the police charged him with 3 counts of murder on a circumstancial case 6 years after he (and his then 12 yr old niece, son, and 5 yr old daughter) discovered the bodies of 3 people whom he dearly loved and had always tried to protect.his committal starts on thursday, 13/08/09 and will go on for 6 weeks. the lawyers are astounded at the amount of police misconduct and abuse of powers in his case and say that he will be committed to stand trial as never in queenslands history has anyone on murder charges ever been acquitted despite once innocence. but god is ou lawyer, our judge, our witness and most of all our father who loves the truth and justice, thru him all things are possible, so please pray with us that he makes the impossible possible, for justice, and for the real killers to be exposed. on easter of 2003 3 people whom max really loved were taken away from him, his life was shattered and his world fell apart, 3 years later on easter of 2006 god blessed us with the birth of our daughter on easter monday, and just as he was glorified thru the ressurection of his son, our savior, father we pray that u will use this moment in our lives for ur glory. please pray for us as only god alone can help us.may god bless u all and u all are in our prayers.
